That Ring Unveils the Mystery

美國影集《The L Word》的觀眾中，應該有不少人跟我一樣覺得114的床戲雖然拍得很好卻很奇怪，有一種隱約的不協調感，有股說不出來的莫名其妙。

Bette撕開Tina晚禮服的右手，在下一幕突然換成左手；Bette伸出的左手，在下一幕卻突然變成右手；Tina的右手，在下一幕又變成左手！原本累得把頭垂在Bette左肩的Tina，在下一幕卻又變成靠在Bette的右肩上！而最誇張的，莫過於床頭跟兩人倒下方向的相對位置不斷地交互變換著。



一開始，我想這就是大家口中「不接戲」看起來的樣子，原因可能出在分次拍攝時的不經心和前後不一致的道具擺放。但是，Jennifer和Laurel兩人在這一幕打得實在火爆逼真，很難說服我相信這樣的鏡頭是分好幾次拍攝又剪接出來的效果。抱著追根究柢的精神，我仔細地研究了這場戲。

於是我發現，Bette的戒指早就默默地說明了一切。

本來應該在左手無名指上的戒指，在床尾遠景拍攝時，通通跑到右手上了。



原來，一切的不協調感，全部都是鏡頭左右反轉之後產生的不連貫畫面所造成。不知道《The L Word》的剪接師是不是因為連夜趕工，在剪接時不小心把膠捲正反放錯邊了呢？

我想，這不僅是枚愛的戒指，也是枚透露真相的戒指呢！﹝笑﹞


People watching Episode 114 of “The L Word” might have the same feeling as I did – the intermittent scenes of that angry sex.

The right hand became the left hand in the next scene and the left shoulder came in as the right one!

At first, I believed that was probably what my friend called “intermittence,” which was due to the careless takes or inconsistent layout of props. However, the way Jennifer and Laurel acted felt so real and seamless to me that it was hard to believe this scene actually consisted of so many parts from different takes. Hence, I tried to look at it carefully and found THAT ring unveiled all the mystery.

All the scenes taken by the remote camera at the end-of-the-bed side got Bette’s ring on her right hand. I guess someone just had that part of film reversed while editing!

Thanks to Bette’s ring. The ring of LOVE. The ring of TRUTH. (laugh)
